Our strawberry season runs from mid June to early July--depending on the weather. We are generally openTues-Sun but call 335-4705, BEFORE coming, for picking conditions and hours, as they do vary.
The renewing of our strawberry beds has been one of our main focuses the last three years. You will be pleasantly surprised to see the extended variety, availability and quality of the fruit this year.
EARLIGLOW - small, best flavor, medium in firmness, great for jam and for freezing
WENDY- largest fruit in the early season, excellent flavor, firm, good for freezing and jam
CAVENDISH - our most planted variety, Cavendish is a great multi-purpose berry with outstanding flavor.
LAMOUR- Unique flavor, attractive conic shaped berry with fancy stem and leaves makes this great for fresh eating or dipping.
JEWEL - good flavor and size. Rates high on freezer scale but is known to be inconsistant for jamming.
CABOT- very large fruit that are sometimes very oddly shaped. Cabot has excellent flavor and may be another choice for fresh eationg or dipping. it is also great for jams and freezing.
VERY LATE SEASON
VALLEY SUNSET- large size and light red fruit color. This berry has good flavor and is not recommended for freezing.
